CMDAC believes that much of the high- frequency energy was due to a malfunctioning current meter. We have attempted to mitigate the problem by smoothing all of the series except pressure with a single pass through a hanning filter (a three-point filter with weights 1/4, 1/2, 1/4). The final 19 days of the record were too noisy for repair and have not been included here. The given depth of this record is 84 m, but the mean pressure is only 59 db.
