There are quite a few horses in the Canyon.
This lovely tree stands beside our campsite. It is the next-to-last photo
I took in the Canyon, the morning we left. This meadow is an irrigated alfalfa
field. The alfalfa was cut and bailed the week we were there.
The last photo. We stopped on the way out at a petroglyph site. The water that
you see is left from a rain about 10 days previously. Immediately after a rain
the first few miles of the Canyon floor (Chinle Wash) are covered entirely by
water. One can drive into the Canyon at such times but it takes skill and
familiarity with the shifting location of the road.
