The filter is described as having a "40-hour cutoff." CMDAC does not have the original unfiltered data and was unable to check for instrument errors. The temperatures in this file are potential, rather than in-situ temperatures. (Potential temperature is the temperature that a water parcel would have if it were moved adiabatically from its measurement depth to the sea surface.) The speed series ends at 1200 6 Jun 91 (line 474); the speed sensor appears to have failed at that point. Direction is present throughout, however.
