Experiment name: SCM6 (ADOX) Principal Investigator: R.Dickson PI's affiliation: CEFAS Mooring Name: 9306 Mooring position: 48.580 deg S, 61.513 deg E Instrument depth: 1890 meters Seafloor depth: 3565 meters Times: starts 04 Mar 1993, ends 08 Mar 1994 Time increment: 60 minutes Instrument type: Aanderaa RCM5 parameter min mean max sd days speed (cm/sec) 1.50 5.41 16.24 2.63 368.8 temp (deg C) 1.83 1.97 2.06 0.04 368.8 This instrument's clock was running 66 minutes slow at recovery, which may mean that one sample is missing (the sampling interval is one hour). Very few direction measurements were recorded between 40 and 180 degrees. CEFAS believes that this may have been due either to the steep angle of the earth's magnetic field at the mooring site, or an incorrectly balanced (i.e., tilted) instrument. If the latter is true speeds may have been underestimated. In any case, we have not included direction, u and v here since they obviously are incorrect.
