The speed series appears to contain a large number of
wrap-arounds. These are instances in which the speed rotor's
turn count has exceeded 1023 and has reset to 0, thus
registering as a much lower value than the actual speed.
Wrap-arounds are quite hard to identify in a record with a
2-hour interval, and we have not attempted to do so in this
case. This speed record is essentially unusable and we have
not included it here. The file contains just direction,
temperature, and salinity.
