Experiment name: AnSlope 2003-04 Principal Investigator: A.L.Gordon/A.Orsi/R.D.Pillsbury PI's affiliation: LDEO/TAMU/OSU Mooring Name: Central E-2 Mooring position: 71.914 deg S, 173.211 deg E Instrument depth: 1266 meters Seafloor depth: 1772 meters Times: starts 24 Mar 2003, ends 28 Feb 2004 Time increment: 30 minutes Instrument type: Aanderaa RCM8s parameter min mean max sd days dir (deg true) 1.87 243.86 358.75 60.94 331.4 temp (deg C) -0.55 0.51 1.02 0.12 340.1 This instrument lost its Savonius rotor during launch; no speeds were recorded. The direction series ends at line 15904 (0900 19 Feb 04). The compass recorded 1023s after that point; it is not clear why. Directions previous to that failure are unusual and may also be in error. They cluster narrowly around two values - 180 degrees true and 300 degrees true, with few values outside the two clusters. The clock was running 12 minutes 46 seconds slow at recovery. |
