Vertical velocity begins somewhat later at line 5475 (2000 3 Dec 96). In addition, the horizontal velocity components contain many lengthy linear interpolations to replace bad data. Pressure drifts lower throughout the record, indicating either that the mooring line stretched or (more likely) that the response of the pressure sensor changed in situ. The velocity interpolations are somewhat crude. CMDAC has prepared an alternate version of the file in which these linear interpolations have been replaced with predictive interpolations, which are liklier to approximate ground truth. Both versions of the file are available on this disk.
