Experiment name: ACM1 (STACS 10) Principal Investigator: T.Lee/W.Johns PI's affiliation: RSMAS Mooring Name: M252 Mooring position: 26.475 deg N, 76.102 deg W Instrument depth: 800 meters Seafloor depth: 4810 meters Times: starts 06 Oct 1988, ends 05 Mar 1990 Time increment: 60 minutes Instrument type: Aanderaa RCM parameter min mean max sd days speed (cm/sec) 0.37 11.09 44.22 6.27 514.4 dir (deg true) 0.00 225.68 359.96 81.54 514.4 u (cm/sec) -44.11 -6.09 20.20 8.07 514.4 v (cm/sec) -27.37 -1.53 22.85 7.60 514.4 temp (deg C) 7.42 9.55 12.61 0.75 514.4 These data were smoothed with a 3-hour lowpass Lanczos filter. Frequencies higher than about 6 cycles per day have been greatly attenuated. The speed record shows a rotorcounter failure during 17/18/19 Jan 89 (lines 2471 - 2517). Direction contains a single spike during this same period at line 2473. There is an earlier speed spike on 17 Jan 89 (lines 2452 - 2456) that may also have been caused by a rotorcounter failure. Speed and direction are suspect in lines 5115 - 5118 (7/8 May 89). This appears to be an instrument error. Speed contains an anomalous spike on 28 Jan 90 (lines 11489 through 11491). CMDAC has prepared an alternate version of this file in which the anomalies called out above have been replaced by interpolation. Both versions of the file are available on this disk.
