The u and v components of this record contain a large number of
linear interpolations, which limit the usefulness of the record.
It appears that interpolations in temperature coincide with those
in u and v - though it is hard to say whether this is always the
case, since some of the u,v interpolations occur at times when
temperature appears to be constant. The interpolations vary in
length from several hours to several days. We provide here a list
of the most obvious of them. Many short interpolations that
reflect accurately the surrounding trend of the data have been
left out of the list.

For those who prefer predictive interpolation, CMDAC has
prepared an alternate version of the file in which all the
linear interpolations listed above have been replaced by
predictive interpolations. This file will be more useful
than the original for most spectral calculations. Only u and v
were changed; the temperature interpolations have not been
altered and remain linear. Both versions of the file are
available on this disk.
