MAFF notes that data quality in this record was poor and that
all channels contained many spurious bit values that were edited
out by hand. It was necessary to terminate temperature and
conductivity after only 2831 data cycles, and u and v after 7964
cycles. CMDAC's comment: in spite of these problems the data appear
reasonable, although the speed series is slightly noisier than one
might wish.

The conductivity sensor was calibrated indirectly using resistance
loops in the cell circuit.
