The filter is described as having a "40-hour cutoff." CMDAC does not have the original unfiltered data and was unable to check for instrument errors. The temperatures in this file are potential, rather than in-situ temperatures. (Potential temperature is the temperature that a water parcel would have if it were moved adiabatically from its measurement depth to the sea surface.) The speed and direction sensors appear to have failed during extensive portions of this record. Gaps are present in both parameters in lines 122 through 190 (1200 5 Nov 89 - 1200 9 Dec 89), lines 200 through 230 (1200 14 Dec 89 - 1200 29 Dec 89), and from line 413 through the end of the record (0000 31 Mar 90 onward).
