These data were smoothed with a 3-hour lowpass Lanczos filter.
Frequencies higher than about 6 cycles per day have been
greatly attenuated.

The speed record shows a rotorcounter failure during 17/18/19
Jan 89 (lines 2471 - 2517). Direction contains a single spike
during this same period at line 2473. There is an earlier
speed spike on 17 Jan 89 (lines 2452 - 2456) that may also
have been caused by a rotorcounter failure.

Speed and direction are suspect in lines 5115 - 5118 (7/8
May 89). This appears to be an instrument error.

Speed contains an anomalous spike on 28 Jan 90 (lines 11489
- 11491).

CMDAC has prepared an alternate version of this file in which
the anomalies called out above have been replaced by interpolation.
Both versions of the file are available on this disk.
