Experiment name: ACM1 (STACS 10) Principal Investigator: T.Lee/W.Johns PI's affiliation: RSMAS Mooring Name: M252 Mooring position: 26.475 deg N, 76.102 deg W Instrument depth: 100 meters Seafloor depth: 4810 meters Times: starts 06 Oct 1988, ends 17 Jul 1989 Time increment: 60 minutes Instrument type: VACM parameter min mean max sd days speed (cm/sec) 1.48 32.16 78.39 14.73 283.5 dir (deg true) 0.00 251.93 359.97 106.17 283.5 u (cm/sec) -63.91 -16.89 45.44 17.97 283.5 v (cm/sec) -35.36 16.19 74.92 19.51 283.5 temp (deg C) 18.53 21.87 25.25 0.99 283.5 pressure (db) 137.90 152.80 309.40 19.79 283.5 These data originally were recorded with a time increment of 15 minutes. After editing, all series were smoothed with a 3-hour lowpass Lanczos filter. Frequencies higher than about 6 cycles per day have been greatly attenuated. The minimum pressure recorded by this instrument (137.9 db) suggests that it was deeper than the nominal 100 m value given for it. This record was terminated early by the originator. As it stands, however, u and v in the final 30 hours of the remaining portion are suspect. CMDAC has provided an alternate version in which the final 30 hours of u and v have been removed. Both versions of the file are available on this disk.
