Experiment name: ACM1 (STACS 10) Principal Investigator: T.Lee/W.Johns PI's affiliation: RSMAS Mooring Name: M250 Mooring position: 26.510 deg N, 76.840 deg W Instrument depth: 100 meters Seafloor depth: 900 meters Times: starts 08 Oct 1988, ends 23 Apr 1990 Time increment: 60 minutes Instrument type: VACM parameter min mean max sd days speed (cm/sec) 0.10 23.70 79.60 16.59 561.8 dir (deg true) 0.00 118.83 359.99 130.26 561.8 u (cm/sec) -29.54 3.10 52.99 7.60 561.8 v (cm/sec) -72.75 14.66 76.09 23.56 561.8 temp (deg C) 17.17 22.77 25.17 1.09 561.8 pressure (db) 119.10 140.04 448.00 28.42 561.8 These data originally were recorded with a time increment of 15 minutes. After editing, all series were smoothed with a 3-hour lowpass Lanczos filter. Frequencies higher than about 6 cycles per day have been greatly attenuated. The 119.1 decibar minimum pressure recorded by this meter suggests that its actual depth was greater than 100 m. There is an unusual 3-hour spike in speed on 17 Apr 90, and a similar spike in pressure a day earlier. These spikes may be due to instrument failures.
