The speed series of this file is puzzling. It consists entirely
of a sequence of constant-speed segments, most of which are 1/2
day to 2 days in length. It may be that the speed sensor failed
and the PI has provided an approximation based on what was recorded.
Direction, on the other hand, appears to be good. In CMDAC's
opinion, speeds from this current record should be used with
great caution - if at all. 

Both speed and direction contain a gap that extends from 9 Aug 92
to 12 Oct 92. 

Temperature is missing for the first 21 months of the record,
and begins on 12 Oct 92, at the end of the speed and direction
gap mentioned above.
